DOMINIC DE GRANDE – Arranger, Composer
“A talented composer sure to inherit the mantle of best score-writer in British television” Mike Bradley, The Observer (Television Editor)

Credits for Film/TV include: ‘I Was There – The Great War Interviews’, ‘Love & Death In City Hall’, ‘The Last Days of Tony Blair’, ‘Unreported World’ and ‘The Private Life of a Masterpiece’.

Dominic began his musical career composing choral suites for the Camden based Choir Promisiste and he has since worked with both small and large scale ensembles, writing for the string quartet, piano quintet and orchestra. Moving on from this to perform on numerous European tours and festival bills as a session player for hip-hop and rock artists, a move into TV/Film composition work provided a natural opportunity for Dominic to make use of his broad tastes and the wide ranging experience he had gained working within such radically different genres.

Dominic began his work scoring to picture through a number of collaborations with Composer Jason Osborn including ‘Unreported World'(C4), ‘The Private Life Of A Masterpiece'(BBC2) and ‘The Last Days of Tony Blair'(C4). Subsequently Dominic has composed music across a wide range of projects, including short films ‘The Invasion Will Not Be Televised’ (Director: Tom Harper), ‘The Sweethearts’ (Director: Steve Jamison) & ‘Sam And Jenny Go To A Play’ (Director: Caz Roberts) and documentary projects such as Grierson Awards nominated ‘Love & Death In City Hall’ (BBC/Erica Starling) and ‘I Was There – The Great War Interviews’ (part of the BBC’s World War One Centenary Programme).

Dominic has a Masters in Composition from Birmingham Conservatoire, is a highly capable programmer, (fluent in Logic and Sibelius) and multi-instrumentalist and was formerly Artist in Residence at St Barts in Smithsfield. He recently completed the score for feature documentary ‘William Laurance & Sons, Marine Engineers’ and is currently scoring ‘I Love Larne’ (Erica Starling) and working on his choral suite ‘Vide Cor Meum’ which will have its world premiere performance in 2015.
